Saturday Casual Gaming 17: Halloween Tripeaks

Game: Halloween Tripeaks
Publisher: Glowing Eye Games
Platform: PC/iOS/mobile

I was going to tell you about Scream Collector this weak, buuuuuuut I haven't gotten far enough in the game to give you much of a talk on the virtues and merits of that idle clicker. I have, however, played hours of Halloween Tripeaks.

Not to be confused with Tripeaks Halloween or Spooky Solitaire, all fun in their own right.
It being Falloween (and my favorite month), I felt like I should do something accessible and spoopy - thus me reviewing a very simple themed solitaire game. This game is easy, fun, and cool to look at. Basically, you're revealing the scary mansion that Frankenstein's monster has moved into with his hot wife, a witch. To do this, you have to, you guessed it, play solitaire.

Specifically Tripeaks solitaire.
The mechanics are simple - click the card that's higher or lower than your face card (the 10 of spades, here, would take either a Jack or a 9). Since there are no viable plays in this opening hand (which is the norm, sadly), you end up clicking either Next Card and drawing a new card to play from, or using your Wild Card to take any card you wish from the board. Honestly, though, it's best to save that Wild Card for later in the game when you're running out of cards.

As you pick up cards from each of the three peaks (tri-peaks, after all), and clear the areas, you reveal a third of the house at a time. When you have all three parts of the house, you win the round and start again! If you run out of draws and your Wild Card, you go to a nifty High Score screen (well, usually - it's not that hard to get good scores in this game).

Hopefully, this game amuses you (I honestly don't know if this is on Android or just iOS), and hopefully it doesn't eat all your time :P

For a game that's been out for nearly a decade now, it's still pretty good!

That's all for me this Saturday!

Go Enjoy Something!
