COMMISSION ME: ART EDITION!

REQUESTS
  • This is the same Request format you've seen me touting every week on Mondays & Tuesdays in preparation for Thursdays.
  • Send $3 on Ko-Fi with a message leading with "REQUEST" and telling me which category (Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Dedbert, Location, Geometric, Word) you'd like to see on my blog the next Thursday
  • I post art from that category on the blog!
  • This is not a commission, you do not receive the art.
COMMISSIONS (HAIKU)
  • Send $3 on Ko-Fi with a message leading with "HAIKU" and telling me what subject you'd like your 5/7/5 Haiku about as well as where to send it (email, Twitter, Instagram)
  • I send you a 5/7/5 Haiku based around whatever subject you gave me
  • These Haiku will not be posted anywhere else.
SAMPLE HAIKU (PROMPT: MOCHA)
Coffee and cocoa
Warmth and comfort in a cup
Hot liquid breakfast

COMMISSIONS (CAT)
  • Send $3 on Ko-Fi with a message leading with "CAT" and where to send the pictures (email, Twitter, Instagram)
  • I track down my cat and snap 3 photos of my cat which I then send you.
  • These pictures will not be posted anywhere else.
a single sample cat pic

COMMISSIONS (NAME)
  • Send a message via email, Twitter, or Instagram with the subject "COMMISSION: NAME" along with the following
    • The name in question
    • What the person whose name it is likes (hobbies, colors, anything else that would personalize the image)
    • The medium
    • The size and/or format (if digital, I'll need to know if you want a .png or .jpg or whatnot)
    • Where to send it - email (if digital), address (if physical)
  • I send you an illustrated name, similar to my Word art
  • I will not post this art anywhere else without your permission.
COMMISSIONS (RANDOM)
  • Send me a message via email, Twitter, or Instagram with the subject "COMMISSION: RANDOM" along with the following
    • A mood
    • A color
    • the medium
    • the size and/or format (if digital)
    • Where to send it - email (if digital) or address (if physical)
  • I send you a very random artwork - you never know what you're going to get!
  • I will not post this art anywhere without your permission
COMMISSIONS (CATEGORY)
  • This is essentially a different version of both the Random and the Request options.
  • You message me via email, Twitter, or Instagram with the subject "COMMISSIONS: CATEGORY" and then tell me the following
    • Which category (Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Dedbert, Location, Geometric, Word)
    • You can be more specific! (e.g.: Animal - cat, Vegetable - pine tree, Mineral - pearl, Dedbert - in a bird bath, Location - graveyard, Geometric - hexagons, Word - whichever word you'd like)
    • the medium
    • the size and/or format (if digital)
    • the mood for the piece (is it a happy image? somber? frantic? silly?)
    • the main color
    • where to send it - email (if digital) or address (if physical)
  • I send you the finished artwork instead of posting it on the blog.
  • I will not post this art anywhere without your permission

COMMISSIONS (ART)
To properly commission me, contact me via email, Twitter DM or Instagram DM leading with "COMMISSION: ART"! Then tell me what you would like for me to draw or paint for you, the medium, the size, etc.

All commissions involve me sending a preliminary sketch for your approval, with minor color-blocking if the commission is in color. Once you (the client) have approved, I will then complete the commission.

I cannot and/or will not make art of the following
  • Pornography/18+
  • Real people
  • Children
  • Guns/War machines like tanks
  • Gundams, Transformers, Iron Man, or other intricate robots/armors
  • Violence or Visceral Gore - if you want a vampire that's just fed, I can add a little blood, but I'm not comfortable making a bloodbath or drawing intestines or eye trauma or whatnot.
  • Hate Symbols (which really should go without saying but this is the internet)
  • Other people's styles
  • Closed Species - I'm fine with trying to draw someone's fursona, I just don't feel comfortable engaging with closed species at this time, since I don't have any real connections within the community.
  • NO NFTs OR AI TRAINING - Do not ever use my art for these purposes. AI takes money from artists and NFTs are a grift that often use stolen art. If you see my art being used for either purpose it is 100% without my permission

Please be aware that I also do not give permission to anyone who buys my art to then sell products using said art. If you would like to enter a partnership with me, where I would earn a percentage on products sold using my art on top of my commission price, then we can discuss that, but buying a commission from me does not entitle you to using that art to make products for sale. I have no problem with you using said art to print a t-shirt for yourself or to turn into a sticker for yourself, but I'd rather you chat with me honestly about using my art for commercial purposes. (I'm not saying I'd never allow it, I just want to have a say.)

I currently cannot physically ship outside the US if the art is any bigger than a postcard, due to the costs. Package shipping to my nearest International neighbor (Canada) starts around $14.

If you are in the US and you see anything I crochet and want to inquire about purchase, please feel free to send me a message and we can talk prices on that, too!

Also, never feel shy about wanting to buy a painting that has already been posted on the blog! The worst I can say is "I'm sorry, that one's not for sale" or "Ah, sorry, that one's already sold!".

I look forward to working with you on your arts desires!

Thursday Art Walk

In Which I'm Helping

Yesterday was quite the day! Nothing seemed to be going quite right, art-wise, for the first 3/4 of the day, and I just felt kind of run-down. It was gorgeous out, though, with blue skies and bright sunshine and a birdbath surrounded by thirsty honeybees from the neighbor's hives, and that was nice. It was also nice that, out of the blue, my boyfriend was gifted a new mattress by our Epic Friends - the same ones who transported a bed to him last week!

And then, in the evening, my wonderful mother took my guy and me to go pick up some rugs for his room, and that was great, too!

All in all, and despite my brain being mush, yesterday was pretty decent, really!

But I had a problem - I received a Ko-Fi donation for art in the LOCATION category, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to draw or paint a location all day! I wanted to paint a library - too many lines, apparently, because my lineart was... bad. I wanted to create a sunset silhouetted scene from a desert in digital art - too few colors, couldn't figure out the order of shading. I was about to give up when my boyfriend suggested Mount Katahdin.

I love painting mountains.

I really, really love them.

I was, however, very intimidated by painting a mountain I knew, though.

Thankfully, Google is a total bro when it comes to finding reference photos, and it's pretty easy to find said references for Katahdin! I still wanted to paint a sunset, though, so I changed the time of day, tweaked some colors and got to work.

My first layer was with my Arteza watercolor pencils, and I sketched everything out with a brown sienna pencil before filling in base colors. I chose some pretty wild tones for the sky and the peaks, then more subdued ones for the forest and pond.

I'm pretty pleased with how it came out, but you can let me know what you think in the comments either on here or wherever you found a link!

Up until today, I've struggled to get our scanner to capture the actual colors of my paintings, but I think I figured it out!

I stuck black construction paper behind the painting instead of leaving it against the white lid.

Seems to have done the trick, because that yellow is just as yellow as it is in real life!

Also, I did something I didn't think I'd ever do - I accidentally put my brush in my coffee.

Thankfully the paints are non-toxic and the brush washed out just fine in my water, but that was... embarrassing, to be honest lol!

I think that will do it for me, today. I will be working on some crochet tonight, and if you guys want a say in what I draw or paint, please remember to send me a Ko-Fi donation with a message telling me what category you'd like to see next (Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, Location, Geometric, Dedbert, Word)!

HOW TO COMMISSION ME!

This post is a long time coming.

I usually do my own thing, here on the blog. I review what games I want. I review what shows and movies I want. I review what wrestling I want. I make the art I want.

And that's great!

But I'm a lonely birb, and sometimes it's nice to get suggestions! To that end, here's how you can get me to review something you want (or make art you want me to make!) by bribing me I mean commissioning me via Ko-Fi!

WRESTLING
Wrestling PPV and show reviews are currently on hold as I do not have access to NJPW or other networks, reliably. If, however, you want to have me review something wrestling-related on YouTube, buy me 1 (one) coffee on my Ko-Fi account per full hour of the video and leave a link in the message (or your email address or Twitter handle if the link won't fit or something).

Bear in mind that my Niblings may find this blog, so I try to keep things PG more or less. No Sunny Side Up or Queen of the Ring or apartment wrestling, please.

BOOKS
Oh my god please recommend books to me! If you just read something and want me to check it out, by all means just leave a comment on my page. If you're super adamant that I read something and you really, really want a review, you can @ me on Twitter or leave a comment on the blog, and I'll do my best, but if my library doesn't have a copy, I may be out of luck. If you're super duper passionate and, say, slipped me the cost of a copy via Ko-Fi, then I guess I'd be honor-bound to buy and review it, wouldn't I?

GAMES
I love playing games on my computer! I really really love it! So if you have any free-to-play, zero-cost games you want me to review, shoot me a single coffee on Ko-fi and I'll get right on it! Currently, I can get things through Steam, itch.io, Kongregate, Newgrounds, etc. I also do not have a gaming laptop. Currently, I'm using a fairly vanilla business-level Dell Latitude, to give you an idea of the graphics intensity I'm working with lol. This puppy chugs playing voxel games sometimes.

I also have access to a Gamecube, an N64, a Nintendo 3D XL, and a Switch, but none are modded and I do not have Switch Online, so unless you wanna talk to me about shipping a game to me (which is most easily done via Twitter), they'll have to be occasional featurettes if I find cheap games at thrift stores.

The Nibling Alert warning applies here, too. No Adult games, please. And please have mercy on me - I don't know if my palpitation-prone heart can withstand most Scary games. I mean, the original Resident Evil games are kinda my limit (pre-VII) for spook-factor, and I really hate jump-scares.

MOVIES/TV
I would love to do movie or tv show reviews! If you've got an old standby that you'd like to hear my opinions on, feel free to send me 1 coffee per hour of movie or 1 coffee per episode with a message directing me to what you want, and I'll try to review them. I currently do not have cable, but I may be able to find things via YouTube or YouTube TV or any of the free Roku-based channels out there (like Shout Factory, Pluto, the Roku App, etc).

I don't have Disney+. Sorry!

RECIPES
Yes, sometimes I cook, but if you've got a recipe you're dying for me to try, it might be better to reach out via Twitter or the comments, due to ingredient costs and availability. Also bear in mind that I have some restrictions for what I can and cannot (or will or will not) make. My hard no's are:
  • Shellfish of any kind
  • Octopus, squid, cuttlefish
  • Melons of any kind
  • Cocktails or other Alcoholic beverages
  • Organ meats/Offal
  • Anything from Cooking With Jack. Just don't. Do not.
  • Peppers that have to be handled with gloves (why would you do that to me?!)
  • Game (I have no access)

ART
I am not yet confident in my ability to do anything like a proper commission for you like you might get from a professional artist. However! If you'd like to have a say in what I make, you can buy me a coffee and leave a message telling me which of the following categories you'd like to see that week:
  • Animal - A random animal or person
  • Vegetable - A random plant or fungus or algae
  • Mineral - A random geologic object like a rock or a gem
  • Geometric - An abstract, geometric piece
  • Dedbert - the little green owl at the start of most posts on this blog, doing something random.
  • Word - either bubble art based on a word of your choice or a word of your choice outlined in multiple colors
  • Location - a landscape
If you send 2 (two) coffees, you can either request two categories, or you can choose what medium I use!
  • Pencil
  • Pencil & Ink
  • Marker
  • Colored Pencil
  • Watercolor
  • Digital
When I feel like I'm ready, I'll start selling originals and doing legitimate commissions. For now, however, you can check my Redbubble store for prints and fun items (including facemasks, bags, mugs, and more!)

I'll try to mention in future posts when I've updated these terms/tiers, and who knows? The day of True Commissions could be right around the corner!
