Saturday Casual Gaming 22: AdVenture Capitalist

Game: AdVenture Capitalist
Creator: Hyper Hippo Productions
Platform(s): Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Macintosh operating systems; Kongregate.com

I might have become an addict
So last week, I talked about Communism and a clicker game based on it. Let's talk Capitalism this week. Capitalism doesn't really work. It has no inherent morality to it, since it is 100% about the acquisition of wealth at any cost. You can argue against that all you want, but that's basically what capitalism boils down to and this game doesn't pretend any differently. It does, however, have the faintly hilarious premise that somehow you can buy the moon with enough lemonade stands. There's no supply or demand in this game, not really. You just start out with a lemonade stand and commence with the money-making.

As You can see, there are other industries, too.
I'm playing on mobile (though that photo above is from an earlier web-based build I played on Kongregate once, I'm pretty sure. I just yanked it off of Google, so I can't be sure). I can't play on Kongregate any more because Chrome does not play well with Unity Player (which the game was built with). The game runs well, the occasional events are hilarious (right now I'm trying to woo money itself with money... wut), and the going is pretty quick. I've already prestiged once with the main part of the game and earned the bonus-base called "Angels".

Yeah.

You can spend these poor Angels on new kinds of Managers (which automatically run your various industries) or Upgrades (to squeeze more money out of those industries), and that's just the beginning.

You can earn other forms of currency (MegaBucks, Gold, etc) through gameplay or buy them, but what's most interesting to me, as someone who has played for years at this point on various platforms, is that you can also go to the moon. Or Mars. Or other places.

What do you do there?

Destroy the scenery with stupid industry so you can keep bloating yourself with wealth. That's what.

Such Cash, very Bloat. Wow.
If you like numbers, this game will teach you new words for them.

If you like money, this game will make you feel like an obscenely wealthy person until you look up from the screen and remember that you're not in a gilded high-rise, you're still trying to figure out how to adult like the rest of us. Including me. I'm not great at adulting.

Anywho, this is a fun game, and it just keeps getting more fun as time goes on. If you've ever wanted to be a Septenvigintillionaire, here's your chance to do so on the moon!

So Go Enjoy Something!
