Talk About Tuesday 216

I'm only going to be able to give you a quick update today, guys, since it's almost 50℉ (10℃) outside and I really, really want to go out there (despite the 30mph/48kph winds...). It seems like today is going to be a weird one, since I woke up at 11am, instead of my usual 9, didn't really want coffee (had it anyway), and just... it's hard to get motivated to be honest.

I mostly just want to go back to bed.

But I will persist in this "being awake" thing.

Anywho, I have some ideas for the next week or so, so here they are!

  • Wednesdaymania will involve me talking about the ROH/NJPW card at Madison Square Garden, which was... oh man was that a great show!
  • Thursday will have me doing the arts. Maybe a bunny? I don't know.
  • Friday will be a little difficult, since I haven't seen a movie this week :| Maybe I'll just talk about MST3K episodes I like?
  • Saturday will be one of the games I've been playing around with this week.
  • Sunday... ? I don't know yet!
  • Next Monday will probably (I hope) be another stuffed animal! I have an idea and it should be heckin cute!
  • I'll be back next Tuesday to talk about life, the universe, etc.
So that's the next 7 days in a nutshell.

What's today like?

Well, I've told you about my bad sleeping schedule and my lazy nature, so you basically know how I am: perpetually exhausted, eternally inert. That being said, I really am looking forward to the weather for the next few days. Maybe not Thursday, since that said there'd maybe be more rain and I'm done with rain for, like, a week.

I'm also in just as much shock as the rest of you from the loss in France. That's... that's a big ouch. A really big loss. There are no words.

I hope that the world pitches in, sending restoration specialists, historic-construction experts, builders, materials, etc. I hope that, since this tragedy has already happened and we cannot undo it, we enter a phase where we form a global recovery juggernaut.

It won't happen, I'm sure. We're too selfish as a species to look at this tragedy and say "ah, but there are also other places, less grand and historic but equally important to those who live there, which need the help of materials and experts - let's help there, too!" but it would be very nice if some good came from the bad.

If this has taught me anything, it has taught me that all grand things may fall, nothing is sacred in the face of mayhem, and what we cherish today may be a ruin tomorrow. It has taught me that if you'd like to see something, go see it if you have any opportunity. If you love something, love it as dearly as you can.

With that, I think when I say this, it means something extra today.

Go Enjoy Something
FC
